Country Finance Controller - Malawi

CQC is headquartered in Washington DC, USA, with subsidiaries and operations across the globe.                                  Follow our journey at www.cquestcapital.com _**Deadline for submitting applications is end of business day May 29, 2024.**_ _This position is onsite at our Malawi offices and will report to the Divisional Head of Finance who is based in London, UK._ **The Role:**  The Finance Controller will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of strong internal control policies and procedures and financial risk management.  **Responsibilities:** * Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, costs accounting and Inventory. * Oversee payroll and statutory tax returns. * Drive month-end and year-end close process. * Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filing. * Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. * Ensure implementation and compliance with Standard Operating procedures, business processes and accounting policies. * Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and report variances at country level, division level and projects level. * Implement, maintain, and strengthen internal controls. * Improve ways of workings. * Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained. * Additional controller duties as necessary. **Requirements and skills** * Proven working experience as a Financial Controller. * 10 + years of overall combined accounting and finance experience. * Advanced degree in Accounting (ACCA, CPA). * Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. * Experience with audit and internal controls implementation and enforcement. * Experience with creating financial statement. * Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process. * Proficient accounting software user and administration skills. * Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used. **Location and Travel:** Lilongwe, Malawi. Occasional travel on an as-needed, short-notice timeline. **Compensation:** Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
