**The role**
Translators without Borders is looking for Vlax Romani translators and revisers. The engagement is for a project that has an expected volume of approximately 208 concepts plus 3912 words in the definitions. This project will focus on the revision and translation of a glossary of terms that focuses on Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). This glossary will help humanitarian workers and the communities they work with to discuss these concepts in local languages and improve communication on these topics as part of the humanitarian response to the war in Ukraine.
**Responsibilities**
* Providing accurate translation of the English source text provided (the source text is also available in Ukrainian and Romanian)
* Providing accurate revision of the translated Vlax Romani terminology based on the English source text
* Conducting extensive research on the glossary terms and using reference materials or authentic texts in the target language
* Timely delivery of tasks based on deadlines set by project officers
* The translator must abide by TWB code of conduct and child protection policy

**Qualifications**
The On-Demand Vlax Romani Translator should be a creative self-starter with a strong sense of initiative and enthusiastic about the importance of increasing access to knowledge through language. The right candidate is an energetic team player who agrees with TWB’s Core Values and can work virtually to collaborate with team members based throughout the world.
**Requirements**
* Previous translation and revision experience
* Proficiency in English
* Native or bilingual speaker of Vlax Romani written in Latin alphabet.
* Familiarity with computer assisted translation tools desirable
* Provide the names of two references within the translation industry
* Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
* Able to work under pressure against the clock
* Previous experience with humanitarian aid and/or with non-profit organization a plus
* Access to a reliable internet connection
